What is hyperion press?

Hyperion Press was a publishing company that operated from the mid-20th century until the early 2000s. It was known for publishing a wide range of books, including fiction, non-fiction, cookbooks, and children's literature. Some of its most successful titles included "The Joy of Cooking" and "The Wind in the Willows."

The company was founded in 1940 by a group of businessmen who wanted to create a publishing house focused on quality literature. It initially published books by lesser-known authors, but over time, it expanded to include more mainstream titles. Hyperion Press was acquired by Disney in 1990, which helped to solidify its reputation as a publisher of children's books.

Despite its success, Hyperion Press faced financial difficulties in the early 2000s due to changes in the publishing industry. In 2007, Disney sold the majority of its assets to Hachette Book Group, effectively ending the Hyperion Press brand. However, many of its titles remain popular and in print today.
